We are building a unique software stack to manage an ecosystem of microservices, RESTful APIs, & data integrations with internal & external systems to deliver useful & elegant user experiences in the extraordinarily complex oncology diagnostic & therapeutic landscape. We connect patients with clinical trials, help clinicians order our test & receive our clinical reports, & deliver valuable genomic datasets to researchers to help uncover important insights into treatment paradigms & drug discovery. Our technology stack reflects our views of using the best tools for the job, employing Java, Python, Ruby along with Kubernetes, Docker, Mulesoft, MySQL, MongoDB, high-performance computing clusters (HPC), & a variety of AWS services to analyze & disseminate vast volumes of genomic data.

Job Description

The Software team is looking for an experienced & energetic senior software engineer to build & enhance laboratory workflows within Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) & other systems that interact with LIMS to facilitate lab operations.

As a member of the software team, you will:

Work with very interesting technologies & datasets (human genomics)

Have a holistic view of processes & systems involved in taking patient samples from order to result in a multi-product clinical laboratory

Specialize in configuration & customization of commercial off-the- shelf product LIMS system to support order to result workflows

Understand LIMS platform features & propose solutions that present trade-off analysis & make best use of the platform

Leverage existing or out of the box or off the shelf functionality whenever possible so development resources can be focused on unmet needs

Communicate & vet design proposals with cross-functional teams & incorporate feedback prior to implementation

Code for efficiency, reusability, scalability & all other -ilities by following existing frameworks & practices or creating new ones when needed

Develop & maintain automated tests for regular releases

Provide second-tier production support

Qualifications

In addition, you bring:

5+ years of enterprise software development

3+ years of experience developing production software in Java

5+ years of experience with commercial Lab Information Management Systems (LabVantage preferred)

Understanding of laboratory operations, regulations & compliance in healthcare industry

Hands-on experience with data modeling, developing schemas (relational databases, XML/JSON), data management & processing (relational & NoSQL data stores)

Experience with Amazon Web Services or other cloud services

Experience working in a fast-paced environment leveraging an agile development framework, understanding of test automation & continuous integration

Bachelor degree in software engineering, CS, or EE

Experience with integration platforms such as Mulesoft is a big plus
