We are seeking a Senior Manager to build up & lead a team of engineers in the Data Engineering group. This leader will be responsible for the Data Integration function, focused on building a performant & scalable data model for our company, & integrating various third-party data sources into our data platform to enable business intelligence & data science use cases.
Duties & responsibilities may include:
Build out a best-in-class Data Engineering team, designed to support the organization's growth & intelligence
Participate in processes & forums to share insights with the company. This person embodies a teaching” mentality & prioritizes information sharing, including partnering with other engineering teams & leaders to set expectations for data onboarding & integration
Build systems & processes to streamline the onboarding & integration of new data into our data platform
What skills are important to us:
Experience with data engineering - including data processing, pipeline orchestration, data quality, governance, & discovery
Experience with growing & leading a team of engineers (preferably a pizza team” of 8)
Familiarity with structured data sets & relational databases: Redshift, Databricks, Snowflake a plus, as well as ELT/ETL, Spark, Airflow or other similar frameworks & tools
Experience working with non-technical stakeholders e.g. in marketing, business analytics
Strong skills in communication, & prioritization of resources
Emphasis on trust-building & ability to quickly make decisions that usually turn out well
Desire to build a team from scratch in a fast-paced environment
