A Glossier Offline Editor, Sales Associate is more than a salesperson. You are the host to Glossiers in-real-life experience in our temporary Boston location. We are looking for someone who can create a special environment in the retail space, who can be a customers friend that gives the best advice on how, when & why to use Glossier products. You will play a crucial part in facilitating a unique customer experience. You are a representative of our company who must embody our values, have a relatable & inviting attitude, & can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Full-time or part-time

Start date: August 2019

Duration: 9 weeks (this is a temporary position)

Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers & introduce them to the Glossier experience
  • Engage with customers at every touch point with a friendly & thoughtful approach
  • Be a Glossier expert; share product knowledge & personal testimony while facilitating an experience that is curated to each customer
  • Help customers choose the right products for them
  • Find solutions to customers problems, always with the customers experience in mind
  • Check out customers & ensure they receive their orders, while facilitating a non-transactional environment
  • Organize & maintain the flow of customer traffic inside & outside the store to ensure a well-coordinated operation
  • Clean & organize the pop-up to support the overall operation

Skills & Qualifications

  • Impeccable hospitality & customer service skills; can routinely identify customers needs & tailor the customers experiences accordingly
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally, patiently & effectively with customers, employees & leadership
  • Can consistently exhibit a demeanor that matches our customer service expectations--proactive, approachable, positive & engaging. Can act like a friend to a customer, providing great advice on our products, & ensure customers feel welcome to ask questions
  • Ability to multitask & work in a fast-paced, high traffic environment
  • Can navigate difficult or ambiguous situations, always with a positive approach
  • Can consistently be a team player with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
  • Ability to work 3-5 days a week, including weekends, starting at the beginning of August, for 8 weeks
  • Can maintain regular attendance in order to meet the responsibilities of the role
  • Can count cash & balance funds in a cash register
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 6-8 hours a shift in a retail environment
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store, including sales floor & stock areas, by standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending & climbing a ladder or step stool
  • Ability to fully engage with customers, including applying products to customers faces, sharing product knowledge, & creating positive shopping experiences unique to the customers individual needs
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at any given time; ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Computer & technology proficient
  • Comfortable working in an environment that is frequently photographed & recorded
  • Resides in a commutable distance from the job location

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a high volume, customer-facing retail or hospitality role
  • Experience in high-energy performative roles
  • Passion for the Glossier mission & products, as well as understanding of the Glossier aesthetic & visual language
