Whether you’re going to work with PCBs yourself or to have someone else do the heavy lifting, this workshop will teach the essentials that you need to either get started, buy services, or manage someone doing it for you. Our instructor walks you through what a PCB is, how it’s designed and made, how it gets assembled into functional hardware, costs, and how to save money when you’re ready to prototype, or even step into production.

March 2nd 10am-6pm
You'll learn about PCB design software, and then you'll create your own Arduino clone design.
You'll need to bring a notebook computer, and a mouse. We'll tell you what software you need to install before the class (it's all downloadable and is free). The software runs on Windows and OSX.
Lean Hardware Startup: PCB 103 Build it
March 15th 10am-6pm
In this session you will assemble a surface mount (SMT) Arduino clone. For those that have taken the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design class and want to take this one, you will be assembling your design you made in that class. For everyone else we will provide a design for you to assemble. You will learn how to assemble surface mount components onto a PCB, and how to correct the placement when the tiny legs on your microcontrollers don't quite line up. The price includes all the supplies necessary to build, soldier and test your project. You will walk away with a working Arduino SMTed clones.
