In years past, members of our group used to hurry back from WWDC in mid-June to share what they learned at the conference. When Apple started turning around the WWDC videos within a day or two, it sherlocked this yearly June event.
By all reports, iOS 8 is slated to go live to the public soon -- sometime in September. iOS 8 features a slew of new and interesting APIs, such as App Extensions, access to TouchID, PhotoKit, AVFoundation camera controls, HealthKit, HomeKit, CloudKit, Handoff, Metal, new features in SpriteKit and SceneKit, and last but not least, Swift.
Now that we've been working with the iOS 8 betas and the various new APIs, what have we learned? What are they really like? What works? What doesn't? What should someone else who is about to use the API know from someone who has been experimenting with it for the past few months?
This month's meetup will feature short (5-7 minute) presentations from several of our members, with each presenter sharing their experience with an a API that they've been working with.
If you'd like to present, please submit your topic using the following simple Google form: https://docs.google.com/a/houseoflegend.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHNBQlBtemxJMzNnWXFTME5HYzFlZGc6MA
