On our path to becoming the world's favorite way to shop, we're assembling an unparalleled global talent network, accelerating individual careers, & disrupting entire industries. We are on a mission to liberate humanity from all the meaningless time spent managing their purchases & finances, so they can do more of what they love. We're in search of global talent eager to embrace a hypergrowth atmosphere & defy their own expectations.
Klarna is looking for an ambitious & talented individual to lead our US Strategic Business Development team. The team is comprised of five high-performing individuals & has ownership over three primary areas of responsibility:
Leadership support: We support US leadership in our highest priority merchant conversations. This can range from helping them prepare for partner meetings in the week ahead to conducting a competitive analysis for a new area of focus.
Enterprise pipeline growth initiatives: We have visibility into the status of our largest enterprise discussions, & we facilitate several sessions each to support growth in these initiatives. Two components of this include: (1) managing our advisor program with c-suite executives within the retail industry & (2) ensuring we're making the most of conferences/events we host with partners.
Strategic projects: The team serves as the connective tissue between several parts of the US go-to-market organization (e.g., Partner Success, Business Development, Product Operations, Finance & Analytics, etc.) so we'll often take on strategic projects that touch several parts. We'll define our strategy around entering new verticals, kick off new programs to increase visibility in the US, & support new market expansion opportunities within North America.
The group is also often looked to as a talent feeder for other parts of the organization. As the leader of this team, part of your responsibility includes professional development & coaching for more junior team members. Klarna also offers a competitive compensation package for high performers.
Day to Day will be a mixture of the following:
Carve out individual roles & responsibilities for members of the team. Manage external relationships with financial institutions & external advisors. Support US leadership in outreach to c-suite executives at partner merchants. Develop & implement new strategic projects to tackle new verticals for the US. Lead core business development sessions reviewing target enterprise merchants. Coordinate with our marketing team to plan for upcoming events & ensure we're reaching out to target merchants in meaningful ways. Work internally to tackle strategic cross-functional initiatives across the US.
