Job Description

We are looking to hire an Industrial Field Service/Technical Support Engineer to support configuration, integration of control systems, industrial devices as well as aid in creating onsite client proof of concepts & provide technical support. We practice agile development so speed & a strong sense of ownership are a must. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication & problem solving skills, experience working with industrial systems vendors & customers. As a customer facing role this role may require occasional extended workweek & weekend commitments. Up to 50% travel & must have valid driver's license.

Role & Responsibilities

Perform controls design, integration, start-up, & technical support for industrial systems.

Create Demonstrations & POC for various industrial systems for Litmus Loop.

Install product(s) or systems at customer sites & deliver training to customers in-house or abroad

Design & develop PLC/PAC & SCADA programming.

Responsible for control system integration with multiple vendor interfaces & Litmus Loop Platform.

Assess the customer's application, troubleshoot & diagnose issues through research and/or re-creation to determine the root cause

Train & coordinate with tradespeople (electricians, automation technologists, etc) on jobsites who are installing our product

Respond to customer service calls & maintain appropriate troubleshooting records

Monitor field installations with remote access & troubleshoot/correct issues

Document procedures & best practices for both internal & customer engineers & technicians

Ability to work crossfunctionally with sales, product management, application engineering, product engineering, & operations

Exercise judgment for managing escalations, priority setting, conflict resolution when facing multiple & concurrent service issues


Experience & Skills

BS/MS degree in Electrical, Industrial or Computer Engineering.

Experience/understanding of electronic system controls/PLC's-motor control highly desirable.

Must have knowledge of industrial communications networks such as EthernetIP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, ProfiNet, Profibus, & Modbus.

Must have experience with PLCs, & DCS control systems. Experience in at least some of the following technologies is highly desirable: Emerson DeltaV, Siemens, Rockwell, Allen-Bradley, Omron, Cutler Hammer, Mitsubishi.

Experience with communication wiring & protocols (Profibus, Fieldbus, Device Net, Ethernet, Serial).

Experience implemented projects including: design, systems integration, onsite commissioning, contract administration & site supervision.

Experience developing user training manuals & providing onsite customer training/troubleshooting courses.

Experience deploying SCADA systems & providing continuing customer support/maintenance.

Excellent written & verbal presentation skills with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear & concise manner.

Networking, virtualization implementation, database programming, & Microsoft OS configuration, is a plus.

Ability to travel to client sites as required for POC, technical meetings and/or commissioning. Travel is project & opportunity specific but not expected to be more than 50%.

Must be able to safely use manual tools & power equipment common in the construction trades.
