Description

As a science-driven healthcare analytics company, Aetion is looking for an early-career scientist to join our dynamic science team. The scientist will be an active individual contributor in both research & data projects, & will engage with & support activities both internally & with customer organizations involving scientific protocols, study implementation using the Aetion platform, & data expertise. The scientist will work individually & as part of the team in a stimulating environment founded & led by scientific & industry leaders that provides many opportunities for professional development & growth. More experienced individuals may have additional responsibilities in leadership, process development, & mentoring.

Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Collaborate with Aetion teammates & customers to design & implement detailed scientific protocols & generate impactful insights. Conduct original, replication, & validation studies & participate in the design of complex algorithms.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Aetion Evidence Platform & measurement system, & transfer that knowledge & understanding to customers & teammates through 1:1 discussions, support requests, written communications, & delivery of training sessions & seminars.
  • Develop & provide healthcare data expertise to both internal & external Aetion platform users. Develop data specification documentation for various healthcare databases. Validate & document database connections to the Aetion Evidence Platform.
  • Develop & maintain scientific assets such as support site content, platform libraries, material on data sources, & training curriculum.
  • Contribute to the improvement of the Aetion Evidence Platform by actively collecting & cross-functionally addressing user feedback regarding the platform.

Qualifications

Required (1-3 maximum)

  • Masters degree or equivalent in epidemiology, biostatistics, health services research, or a related quantitative science field
  • At least one year experience conducting quantitative analyses using a programming language (e.g., SQL, R, SAS)
  • Strong ability to self-motivate & manage conflicting priorities

Preferred

  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Research experience in a healthcare or medical products organization
  • Ability to quickly learn new analytical & software tools, & computing environments.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites or other Aetion facilities

Description: We are looking for a stellar office manager to take ownership of running our Boston office. This position is for someone who excels at proactively forecasting needs & taking initiative preemptively. The office manager will be tasked with the responsibility of having the Boston office operations being run seamlessly. Your role is to create & maintain a pleasant, efficiently run work environment, ensuring high levels of organizational effectiveness, communication & safety.


Office manager responsibilities include organizing & coordinating administration duties & office procedures, facilitating & coordinating spatial management, serving as project manager for moves & new hires, establishing & maintaining a vendor base, making office supplies arrangements, greeting visitors & providing general administrative support to our employees. Previous experience as a front office manager or office administrator would be advantageous. A successful office manager should also have experience with a variety of office software (email tools, spreadsheets & databases) & be able to accurately handle administrative duties.


Ultimately, the office manager should be able to ensure the smooth running of the office & help to improve company procedures & day-to-day operations.


Responsibilities

The following duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Project management of office move including contract management & price negotiations of appropriate movers & vendors
  • Organize & manage the floor plan, operations & procedures for the Boston office
  • Facilities management of maintaining the office condition & arranging necessary repairs
  • Assist in the onboarding & orientation process of new hires
  • Maintain strong relationships with office vendors & service providers
  • Reconcile invoices & ensure on time payment
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for local team as needed
  • Ensure that the office is stocked appropriately at all times
  • Greet & provide general support to visitors
  • Address employee queries regarding office management issues
  • Plan in-house or off-site activities, like parties, celebrations & conferences
  • Partner with HR to update & maintain office policies as necessary
  • Serve as a backup executive assistant to C-level executives & coordinate local travel as needed

Requirements

  • 5+ years as experience as an Office Manager, EA
  • Knowledge of office administrator responsibilities & procedures. Proficiency in MS Office. Familiarity with Mac & G-suite a plus
  • Excellent time management skills & ability to multitask & prioritize work
  • Exceptional attention to detail & extremely strong problem-solving skills to anticipate & proactively recommend solutions
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational & planning skills in a fast-paced environment. A creative mind with an ability to assess & suggest optimal solutions or improvements
