Expa is searching for an Operations Associate to support our growing Founder Experience team.

In this role, you will report to & work very closely with our Principal of Founder Experience, helping design & execute programs to serve our founder, investor, & operator communities. What does that mean, you ask?

First & foremost, it means building an engaged community across our 70+ active portfolio companies. This is where we expect you to spend the bulk of your time. Youll partner with our Principal of Founder Experience to execute initiatives to engage our founders & leadership teams through networking & educational events & programs, including but not limited to quarterly dinners, educational workshops, & a founder cohort program. You will be given the opportunity to onboard all new investments & meet inspiring new entrepreneurs, enabling you to foster connections where relevant.

In addition to helping our portfolio companies grow efficiently, youll work with our investment team & the rest of the Founder Experience team to help strengthen our investor & operator communities. We have ideas here but are excited to hear your own & execute events & processes to help us achieve key Expa objectives.

As a small but mighty team, there will be many ad hoc projects for you to get involved in & many opportunities for growth should you develop interest in specific areas of the job.

This is a full-time position. The right candidate for this role is analytical, action-oriented, self-motivated, & excited to manage large-scale projects for key stakeholders. 

We strongly prefer candidates based in New York City, the San Francisco Bay Area, or Los Angeles.

This position is ideal for someone who has less than 5 years of work experience in a startup environment.

Responsibilities: 

• Help set & execute community & events strategy for Expa. Primary community focus will be on existing & prospective founders, followed by senior operators/experts/advisors & investors
• Organize quarterly dinners with founders & investors in SF, NYC, LA, & London
• Build & maintain relationships with leaders of our portfolio companies
• Generate discussion around relevant topics, participate in developing networking events & tactical workshops, & make thoughtful connections to help our portfolio leaders solve critical pain points
• Manage onboarding of new community members, including gifting, entry surveys, & kickoff calls
• Build peer groups between functional leaders within the portfolio to enable collaboration & knowledge sharing
• Track & report on portfolio health & strategic value added to internal stakeholders

Requirements:

• 3-5 years in an Operations, Chief of Staff, or Product Management position, preferably at a high growth tech startup
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at Expa; teamwork is essential to this role
• Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity & motivated to experiment with new strategies to build community while meeting deadlines & delivering at a high caliber
• Excellent project management skills with strong attention to detail
• High EQ; able to build trust with the community 
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills
