Little, Brown Books for Young Readers is looking for a Graphic Designer to join our Integrated Marketing department to create digital & print content & materials. The design work created will support marketing efforts for a wide range of titles, from board books to young adult, & vary from designed content for social media platforms to advertising, packaging, swag, & other print collateral. This role works closely with the marketing teams & NOVL to translate ideas into compelling visual designs that promote our books, authors, illustrators, & brands.


  • Work under the supervision of the Associate Art Director to design & manage projects across print & digital platforms
  • Work collaboratively with marketing teams & NOVL to conceptualize projects & execute designs effectively & efficiently
  • Design engaging social media content including infographics, shareable graphics, animated gifs, eblasts, online ads, etc., while being aware of file constraints & specifications unique to various social platforms
  • Maintain branding for children’s, School & Library, NOVL, & specific title brands
  • Design & maintain branded looks for key licensed properties & work within strict guidelines in the creation of sell sheets, brochures, ads, online graphics, etc.
  • Photograph books for stylized photos & products shots for social media, retailer websites, & advertising
  • Design corporate presentations & pitch packets in PowerPoint
  • Design sales & marketing materials for conventions & cons, including large-scale banners, posters, digital ads, & program advertising
  • Keep current with trends & best practices in social media, web development, email marketing, advertising, & mobile strategies
  • Research & recommend compelling digital content that increases consumer engagement & acquisition across web & social channels 


  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Graphic Design, preferably in publishing
  • Up to date & fluent with industry leading software & technologies (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, After Effects, etc.), knowing the difference between setting up files for print versus web, but can adapt print files as needed
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in PowerPoint
  • Love of books, with a particular enthusiasm for children’s & young adult books
  • Creative, adaptable, highly organized, motivated, & possessing a strong work ethic
  • Ability to prioritize, problem solve, & multi-task to keep numerous projects on track in a fast-moving environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, & verbal communication skills with the ability to present concepts, results, & actionable plans to colleagues, clients, & vendors
  • Up-to-date knowledge of digital marketing best practices, tactics, & strategies
  • Interest in photography a plus
  • Experience using project management software such as Asana, Wrike, Basecamp, etc. a plus
