Working as part of the Descartes Labs marketing team, the Product Marketing Manager will be focused on creating digital messaging & design, sales training, & sales enablement materials in the form of playbooks, live training sessions, product collateral, landing pages, presentations, datasheets, blog posts, white papers, & more, with the goal of driving lead generation, sales readiness, & overall product awareness.
You will conduct industry research & work with the rest of our product marketing team to create custom content highlighting our unique methodologies & technical capabilities. You will also use your experience in product marketing, design, & customer research to work directly with sales & position high-value solutions for large organizations. Since this is a key role on our team, you will have the opportunity to help define the overall strategy & create significant value for the company.
Create positioning & messaging that clearly captures the use cases, product details, personas, methodologies, & technologies that we use to solve customer problems. Work through iterative feedback with product marketing, product management, engineering, & applied science teams to bring digital sales collateral to life for use with customers. Track metrics over time to measure success & establish internal processes to share & make use of collateral.
Customer & Market Needs
Conduct industry & customer research to help inform & customize our sales pitch. This will be both systematic (industries of focus) & ad hoc (ahead of discovery conversations sales will have with specific customers). The research will focus on how to frame a vision of digital transformation & model operations within large organizations. Support the sales team discovery process for high-value sales targets & shape the pitch with well-designed & clear collateral.
Sales Playbooks & Training
Help define the sales pitch of digital transformation to large organizations through the development of consolidated vertical playbooks & sales training materials & events. Create & refine internal processes & tools to better allow customer & market intelligence transfer between sales & product in an effort to decrease the sales cycle & improve conversion rates. Work with product management to define the go-to-market plan & ensure its use in the form of easy to understand & accessible playbooks. Bring these playbooks to life in the form of sales training sessions & documentation.
