The Basics:

At Tanium, our Regional Leads serve as the tactical & administrative leader of their region within their POD. Reporting to the POD Lead, Regional Leads are in a position of leadership of a team of talented engineers & charged with, first & foremost, preserving the incredible culture upon which Tanium was built.

Working closely with their team, peers, POD Leads, CSMs, & Sales, Regional Leads are expected to have unwavering leadership skills, & maintain their hands-on technical abilities. Because you will manage a wide range of responsibilities & opportunities, we are looking for versatile candidates with experience in the areas below. Above all, demonstrated leadership/mentorship of fellow technologists at Tanium, embodying Taniums core values, is a must.

What youll do:

  • Manage TAMs of all levels within region. This will include:
    • Hire, onboard, motivate, develop & retain remarkable talent within the team
    • Own & facilitate team meetings to ensure consistent & appropriate updates are provided & discussed, team collaboration & problem-solving is fostered, & constructive feedback is solicited
    • Hold regular 1:1 sessions with team members to learn & understand the knowledge, skills, abilities, strengths, & opportunities for each member of the team, ensuring constructive & real-time feedback is delivered & performance is managed proactively & consistently
    • Ensure ongoing training, skills enhancement & certification of job qualification requirements are completed timely & successfully
    • Strategically delegate & reorganize tasks, focuses, & workload of team members based on surges, demands, & changes within the region & POD
    • Individually demonstrate & hold team members accountable for understanding, preserving, & furthering the Tanium culture
  • In partnership with the POD Lead & Regional Lead peers, setting direction for the team, anticipate strategic & scaling-related challenges through thoughtful short-term & long-term planning
  • Work closely with CSMs on improving Tanium operational status & health scores within key customer accounts
  • Work closely with regional Sales leaders to ensure sales opportunities are partnered on & managed appropriately, demonstrating a strong leadership role in all sales activities within the region
  • Manage strategic & thoughtful account distribution & overwatch within region, monitoring the success of all accounts within region to ensure steadfast Tanium customer success
  • Serve as the first point of contact on all issues within the region, proactively ensuring POD Lead stays informed & is approached with suggested solutions that demonstrate good judgment & are in-keeping with Tanium values
  • Think critically, spanning the sales process through customer support, troubleshooting, & developing new capabilities on the Tanium platform
  • Thrive in a team-oriented culture through collaborating with & strengthening team members

Were looking for someone with:

Education, Experience, & Training

  • BS degrees in computer science, MIS, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Significant industry experience preferred
  • Significant experience in customer-facing or customer support positionspreferred
  • Demonstrated internal Tanium experience preferred, but not required, with a strong performance track record
  • Experience leading (directly or indirectly) a team of diverse, talented technologists & engineers to successful outcomesis required
  • Broad knowledge across several of the following technical domains:
    • Endpoint Security
    • Endpoint Support/Troubleshooting
    • Incident response
    • Systems Management
    • Systems Administration
    • Software Engineering
    • Utility Scripting (e.g. bash, PowerShell, VBScript, Python, etc.)
    • Networking
    • Cloud
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills
