THE POSITION

The Insight Director will work on our most challenging analytics problems, in order to provide actionable insights to stakeholders across Marketing, Commercial, Product, VIP, TV, Ops teams & guide data-driven decisions. This role will be responsible for setting best practices for data science & analytics within the team & the wider organization.

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Work closely with decision-makers across the company, to understand their goals, identify opportunities to use data to develop new insights & improve business results
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to stakeholders, articulating complex technical concepts as necessary & making them understandable to a less technical audience
  • Identify technological gaps & areas for innovation, working closely with the data teams to help developing & improving the current data structure
  • Develop, iterate & take to production machine learning models to solve problems
  • Explore & use different tools to improve scalability, & accelerate the conversion of data to insight
  • Build solutions for other teams to self-serve data as much as possible, speeding up their BAU & relying to one source of truth
  • Manage a team of data scientists / analysts setting high standards of excellence, focusing on quality & speed of delivery; mentor them & give them the right exposure to key stakeholders to have them improve & build trust within the company
  • Be able to see the bigger picture & collaborate with Insight & Analytics teams from other verticals; share knowledge with teams of the FanDuel group & Flutter

THE STATS

What were looking for in our next teammate

  • BA/BS degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or comparable); Masters degree preferred
  • 7+ years of industry experience in data science, analytics or engineering
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team
  • Expert analytical & quantitative skills as well as knowledge of modern machine learning techniques, experimental design & statistical modeling
  • Full understanding of engineering standards & practices
  • Expertise working with relational DBs (SQL, Redshift, etc.)and proficiency in programming languages (Python or R, preferred)
  • Effective communication skills to deliver actionable insights in a clear & understandable manner to decision-makers in non-technical departments
  • Ability to work across teams, locations & time zones
  • Critical thinking, proactivity, attention to details, go-getter attitude
  • Interest or previous experience in sports or gaming preferred
