VCA is looking for an individual to join our data science team & play a role developing high impact projects for Visa. The ideal candidate is adept at using large data sets to address key strategic needs for Visa's clients including issuers, acquirers & merchants. They must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building & implementing models, using/creating algorithms & creating/running simulations. They must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data based insights. Adept at creative & critical thinking, they are able to deconstruct problems & transform insights into large scale, state-of-the-art solutions.
Lead strategic work-stream, aimed at enriching & monetizing our VisaNet & partner data by developing edge-cutting innovative solutions & testing multiple hypothesis
Manage projects from conception to completion with the help of junior team members
Lead tasks on R&D, data governance, system infrastructure, analytics tool evaluation
Help us staying at the forefront of technical advancement in data science & introducing cutting edge tools & techniques for generating business insights
Provide thought leadership in analytic techniques & business applications to unlock the value of Visa's & client's unique datasets
Continuously develop & present innovative ideas based on data driven approach in order to improve current business practices within Visa
Coach & educate other team members on data analysis techniques & Visa processes
Constantly improve Visa external image as data driven innovative by participation in & organization of external workshops & meet-ups

Back-up for Data Science Head in Russia
MS in engineering, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics or other related fields
At least 5 years of experience in Banking,Tech companiesor payment system.
Minimum of 7years ofexperience of relevant experience in data, analytics, & statistics
Extensive experience applying analytics & creating innovative solutions to solve business problems
Extensive experience in presenting ideas & analysis to various audience levels
Good business acumen to orient data analysis to business needs of clients
Strong written, verbal, & graphical communication skills
Ability to clearly communicate the meaning of analytical concepts, analyses & results
Ability to execute multiple projects & tasks with competing priorities while meeting required deadlines
Quick-thinker, fast learner, wide general knowledge, problem solver
Team worker, responsible, delivery-oriented
Excellent spoken & written English, fluent Russian
Hands on experience with - SAS, Hive, R, SQL, Python, Hadoop, Spark
Working knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem & associated technologies, e.g. Apache Spark, Mllib, GraphX, iPython, sci-kit & Pandas.
Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques & concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests & proper usage, clustering, decision tree, Gradient Boosting, Random forests, Support Vector Machine, Deep learning, etc.) & experience with applications.

Ability to define & support the quality assurance cycle
