Security Engineer II, Cloud Architecture at Oscar Health In NYC

Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Security Engineer II, Cloud Architecture to join our Security team.

Role Summary:

The Security Engineer II focuses on cloud technologies, working with other Security team members & partnering cross-functionally with engineering & SRE. You'll ensure that Oscar has the data & tools needed to protect the confidentiality, integrity, & availability of Oscars data & systems.

You will report into the Head of Cybersecurity. This is a hybrid role. You will work part of the time in the New York City office & part of the time work-from-home/remote. #LI-Hybrid

The potential base pay for this role is: $135,960-$178,448 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, company equity grants & annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities:

Work with cross-functional teams to identify, resolve, & mitigate security issues in Oscars cloud environments & processes
Assist with implementing & administering security controls for cloud environments
Assist engineering teams with identifying security requirements for cloud applications
Help create metrics to demonstrate the effectiveness of our application security program & inform continuous program improvements
Create, update, & maintain documentation for all configurations for the production environment
Secure development life-cycle (SDLC & CI/CD) practices including threat modeling & security testing

Requirements:

Have 2+ years of career experience related to Security Engineering
Have 2+ years of career experience related to Cloud Engineering
Experience with database data access/management including SQL & BigQuery
Experience writing scripts with JavaScript, Go, Python or Java
Experience implementing modern cloud infrastructure services in AWS or GCP
Experience using containers & container orchestration technology (Mesos & Kubernetes)

Bonus Points:

Prior work experience in a risk management capacity
Prior work experience in or understanding of security challenges specific to the healthcare or health insurance industries
Experience with Terraform or ArgoCD

Pay Transparency:

Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, & experience.
