Over that same period, our revenue has grown 800%. Underpinning this growth is the CB Insights Technology Intelligence platform, the vast market we have to capitalize on, & a great team with top talent across all levels. Additionally during the past 6 months while others have floundered, we have thrived - adding new datasets to our platform, two company acquisitions & brought to market key new products to facilitate better data ingestion for our customers, our Data Feed & API products.. 

Now, what we need is for someone with expertise that can help support the selling, scoping & implementation of these new products..  

The CB Insights Solutions Engineer will work closely with Account Executives, Customer Success Managers & Strategic Account Managers at CB Insights to articulate the value proposition, fundamentals & technical points of the CB Insights Data Feed & API products. The Solutions Engineer will create a great experience for customers with these products by ensuring informational clarity on their operations, laying out a clear plan for implementation & project managing onboarding to completion.  You will also serve as the internal voice of the customer for suggestions on continued improvement on the CBI Data Feed & API products.  To be clear, API & Datafeeds are just the beginning. As we grow & innovate, we will launch new products & get closer to our clients to architect & implement  technical solutions that they need. The solutions engineer will have a key role in developing & executing on this space.  This individual's performance is based on specific metrics associated with customer on-boarding & adoption.

Your Main responsibilities:

  • Support Account Executives, Customer Success Managers & Strategic Account Managers in describing the Data Feed & API solutions to customers & answering questions regarding implementation

  • Understand customer requirements & share best practices for implementing common use cases.

  • Lead implementation of these products for customers, including creating technical content & engaging customer engineers

  • Provide ongoing support for additional product questions as needed

  • Ensure functional knowledge of API with both customers as well as the Go To Market organization at CBI.

  • Maintain & improve onboarding/implementation documentation

  • Work closely with product & engineering teams to provide customer feedback & suggestions for continued development

  • Work on RFPs / customers technical requirements with the Sales team.

  • Prepare demos & proof-of-concepts to demonstrate the business value of various use cases

  • Assist developers with debugging their code in a variety of programming languages.

  • Document the architectural solutions that customers have designed & deployed for internal use.

What you bring to the table:

  • 5+ years prior experience in technology sales or solutions engineering

  • A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle & demonstrated experience in API implementation.

  • A firm understanding of multiple programming languages for API development such as Python, cURL, or R. 

  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Postman, Filezilla & PuTTY. 

  • Capable of managing key customer communications with multiple stakeholders, ensuring a valuable overall experience with the CBI brand.

  • Great communication skills

  • Strong collaborator.  Able to bring internal parties together to work toward the best solution for our customers.

  • Detail oriented with great organization.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously & leverage strong prioritization skills to ensure deadlines are met

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS or a comparable field is preferred.
