Job Description

The Senior Trainer- North America (NA) is a member of Visa University's Market Learning organization reporting to the NA Director of Learning Delivery & is responsible for the efficient & effective delivery of industry & Visa-specific training for Visa employees & client partners, including senior stakeholders at financial institutions, merchants, Fintech & other external audiences. The ideal candidate is a proven individual leader with deep knowledge of the payments industry as well an energy & passion to facilitate engaging training programs both in person & virtually to influence & impact Visa's business. Due to the need for knowledge mastery & client-facing exposure, this role requires strong executive presence & extensive experience facilitating & consulting with executive-level learners. The Senior Trainerwill also help train, certify & work with Visa University SME faculty in order to scale training delivery where possible.

Essential Functions

  • Use extensive industry and/or Visa expertise across a broad range of business subjects & be able to delve & direct discussions with NA stakeholder audiences to provide maximum impact.
  • Lead by example & role model a passion for best-in-class training delivery.
  • Champion excellence in facilitation & knowledge competence.
  • Communicate openly with key stakeholders internally & externally to build deep & trusted partner relationships that have a clear understanding of needs & objectives & a focus on ease of doing business.
  • Effectively utilize training delivery to promote & inspire a culture of learning that encourages continuous performance improvement, innovation, & learner engagement.
  • Bring an innovative mind set to each training experience & champion new ideas & ways of delivering & engaging learners.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally as needed to ensure training materials are updated & training is delivered as One Visa & aligned with common goals.
  • Deliver training curriculum from the School of Digital Payments, both in person & virtually, against a schedule that will meet learner demands & support organizational goals & priorities.
  • Provide pre-class & follow-up support for learner queries as needed in a timely manner.
  • Support online forums, communities & social media platforms that enable learner engagement & connection pre- or post-training sessions.
  • Engage with the learner population to develop empathy & understanding.
  • Identify on an ongoing basis potential learning gaps and/or needs of clients, partners & employees & ensure feedback cross functionally within Visa University.
  • Engage cross functionally with subject matter experts to ensure that you stay on top of the latest information & developments in your domain areas. Stay on top of industry developments in your domain areas.
  • Collaborate, as SME & reviewer, with VU Shared Services functions during content development & continuous improvement updates as needed.
  • Ensure class evaluations are completed & the highest standards are maintained based on management, stakeholder, & COE standards.
  • Actively review the effectiveness & efficiency of deliveries for continuous improvement.
  • Work with other Trainers as needed for cross-training purposes.
  • Ability to learn new non-client topics quickly & deliver effectively as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of work experience & a Bachelor's Degree or 6 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree.
  • 8+ years with progressive experience in training delivery or relevantprofessional experience as a disputes resolutionssubject matter expert.
  • Deep knowledge of the payments business, preferably Visa's products & services & regulatory landscape.
  • Strong knowledge of disputes resolution processes & regulations is a must
  • Strong, polished executive presence & business acumen a must.

  • Passion for teaching & facilitation & providing the best learning experiences for learners.
  • Ability to deliver learning programs using single channel or blended approaches, including virtual & classroom-based instructor-led training (ILT), peer-to-peer learning, on-the-job learning & e-Learning (achieves NPS of +80 & higher).
  • Proven ability to increase learner engagement in course facilitation, social media & communities.
  • Ability to comprehend & translate complex technical concepts into terms that are easy to understand for non-industry audiences in an influential & persuasive manner.
  • Strong communication (written & verbal) & consulting skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management, relationship management & influencing skills at all levels in an organization.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity & rapidly changing content & strategies.
  • Location is flexible & requires willingness & ability to travel as needed to deliver training globally.
  • Bilingual English & Spanish or Portuguese preferred to allow for delivery collaboration with LAC region.

Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.

Location is flexible & requires willingness & ability to travel up to 60% as needed to deliver training.
