Peloton is seeking a Senior Program Manager (PM) to drive planning, program management, & project execution of the companys facilities expansion roadmap for the Enterprise IT Operations (EIT Ops) department, including capital construction, retail expansion, & field operations warehouses. You will work with various EIT Ops teams, including network, audiovisual (AV), physical security, IT construction, telecommunications, IT facilities, as well as with business partners & stakeholders including retail, field operations & logistics, content, hardware engineering & QA, workplace, & people. You will also be part of a program management organization (PMO) in the EIT Operations department.

The Enterprise IT Operations department at Peloton is responsible for IT service delivery, technical infrastructure, telecommunications, cyber security, program management, streaming engineering, & technology governance, risk, & compliance (GRC) globally, focusing both on planning, building, & supporting technical services & solutions.

You are not required to have technical IT or construction experience, but you are required to work with technical & construction staff & understand technical & construction initiatives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Program Governance & Leadership
    • Select appropriately from a variety of PM methods, processes, policies, & procedures & apply to the situation
    • Successfully manage multiple, simultaneous, complex, high-visibility programs & projects in a portfolio
    • Facilitate development of & execute on a prioritized roadmap
    • Develop & execute on integrated project plans
    • Develop & maintain a program management strategy which encompasses planning, development, monitoring, control, & execution
    • Track & manage budget, scope, labor, & schedule
    • Recognize opportunities for improvements/adjustments & effectively implements
    • Facilitate decision-making by gathering & making information available, identifying & engaging the appropriate stakeholders, & driving & focusing discussion
    • Identify, assess, & manage risks, action items, issues, dependencies, & open decisions; work with the technical lead of the project or program to manage the risks items, not just the list
    • Define programs or projects by gathering requirements & clear acceptance criteria/definitions of done
    • Manage scope & evaluate priorities to efficiently balance resources
  • Relationship Management, Communication, Statusing, & Reporting
    • Lead programs & workstreams through influence, competence, & results, & not through people leadership or task management, to create a culture of shared goals & shared direction
    • Develop & maintain a stakeholder management plan for individuals/teams within & outside the team and/or program
    • Drive process creation & cross-team collaboration
    • Understand, manage, communicate, & report key program information, including status, schedule, milestones, risk, dependencies, major changes, & major decisions
    • Develop & maintain a statusing & reporting process & cadence which accounts for communication to various stakeholder levels & for various purposes
    • Plan & facilitate effective meetings tailoring approach to the objective of the meeting (eg stakeholder program review vs sprint planning session), & developing solid artifacts
    • Help build consensus between teams
    • Manage vendors & suppliers
  • PM Methods
    • Leverage waterfall techniques that align with construction & IT program management
    • Kick off projects & programs with clear definition of scope, objectives, key results, & stakeholders
    • While you will NOT use Agile or Scrum practices to manage the program, you will intersect with partner teams who use Agile & Scrum practices to manage their work
    • Champion processes, including change management, knowledge management, project intake, roadmapping, prioritization, & service transition
    • Build processes, templates, & structure for the program, or leverage existing ones as appropriate
  • Effectiveness
    • Coordinate & help come up with solutions, & remove impediments
    • Develop & demonstrate broad knowledge of IT initiatives & business goals
    • Solicit feedback to confirm solutions are appropriate & effective
    • Exercise risk-based judgment, & help teams make the right judgement calls

  • We regularly assess the state of the department, the business, & the company, & determine what processes (and levels of process maturity) are needed for us to reach current & future objectives - you will play a large role in these decisions & changes for the programs you support, & on the PMO team
  • We firmly believe in conducting retrospectives & driving managed, continuous, improvement - you will facilitate many of these & are expected to facilitate & participate in an open & constructive dialogue
  • Were doing a lot really fast - you may be asked to flex outside of your role from time to time

ABOUT YOU:

  • You have:
    • 5+ years IT program management experience
    • Experience managing complex programs with large budgets, exacting stakeholders, multiple vendors, & firm deadlines
    • Experience gathering requirements & soliciting clear acceptance criteria
    • Strong track record of project delivery & benefits realization
    • Experience in strategic planning & analysis
    • A basic understanding of software engineering & technical infrastructure
    • Excellent meeting facilitation skills
    • Strong interpersonal communication, problem solving, negotiation, & organizational skills
    • A strong sense of accountability & personal ownership
    • A flexible (whether proactive or reactive, as the situation requires) approach to change & are able to work effectively in a variety of situations, constantly seeks improvements, & is forward looking
    • Experience in defining, implementing & coaching others in Program Management methodologies & tactics

NICE TO HAVE:

  • 4 years contextual IT infrastructure and/or construction management experience
  • Experience using Monday.com, Smartsheet, Confluence, Jira, & GSuite - we dont use Microsoft Office or Microsoft Project here
