We are looking for an exceptional Business Development Manager to help grow & develop a new sales team within the Tripadvisor Hospitality Solutions organization. The team will partner with Tripadvisors New Ventures Team to launch new products, beginning with an offering in the Restaurant vertical (initially focused on the US Domestic market). New Ventures is a cross-functional entrepreneurial team focused on launching new travel businesses, using the best of start-up practices & the scale of Tripadvisor.
The right candidate will need to be able to work with other stakeholders in the business, operate in a Product Launch environment, & motivate their team to execute flawlessly & exceed their targets & KPIs. The position will be influencing the successful growth of our transactional business, while extending to recruiting, training, coaching, motivating, forecasting, & pipeline management among others. This role does require a hands-on, results-driven & a programmatic manager that will coach & motivate the team to success.
Responsibilities

Hire, onboard & continuously coach a high performing sales team.

Exceed targets & related KPIs on a monthly, quarterly, & annual basis.

Ensure optimal coverage of all territories at all times.

Coaching approach on customer engagement skills such as negotiation, objection- handling & closing.

Directly involved with cross functional sales teams in supporting the progression & closure of key deals.

Execute on weekly forecast & pipeline review governance model

Provide support to the team by handling customer call escalations; answering questions that the sales reps are not able to, & addressing customer service issues.

Listen to phone calls throughout the day to improve performance & ensure Quality Assurance levels are met.

Track & report on Key Performance Indicators.

Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders quickly & effectively to resolve issues when they arise.

Significantly grow the penetration of our newest Restaurant product by ensuring we have the best Business Development people & processes in place
What we are looking for?
-
At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, leading a sales team serving the SMB market and/or selling a Direct-to-Consumer partnership solution.

Demonstrated consistent success in achieving targets.

Strong leadership skills & ability to motivate & inspire a team & demonstrated ability to coach others to improve their performance in a fast paced environment.

Working knowledge of CRM for lead, contact, pipe, forecast management.

Ability to analyze data to improve sales effectiveness.

Strong organization/prioritization skills; proven ability to consistently meet deadlines.

Strong listening, probing, & phone skills.

Thoroughly familiar with the use of spreadsheets, word processors, & the web.

Ability to work well both autonomously & within a team environment.
