Hi, we're Oscar. Were hiring an Associate Director to join our Marketing team in our New York office. 

Oscar is a technology-driven, consumer-focused health insurance startup founded in 2012 & headquartered in New York City. Our goal is to make health insurance simple, transparent, & human. We need your help to do so.

About the role:

In this role you will oversee end-to-end marketing for our small group insurance business. That includes developing the vision & ambition for the line of business, setting the strategy for the year, focusing an interdisciplinary team on the right objectives, making hard choices about where & how to focus the budget, & ultimately ensuring that the team meets & exceeds growth targets for the business. You will report into our Senior Director of Marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Set the strategic marketing plan for our small group insurance business

  • Deliver against business-level growth targets & objectives while maintaining viable costs per acquisition; set & deliver against incremental objectives & key results in support of bottom line business objectives

  • Oversee & direct an integrated team of specialists to deliver against all aspects of the marketing plan, including market research, audience definition, brand & product positioning, messaging, broker & partner communications, creative campaign strategy, media plan, CRM, & all related execution

  • Utilize the right data & market research to proactively identify growth opportunities & risks to the business, & develop agile solutions in response to changing market conditions

  • Manage the marketing budget for the line of business, ensuring appropriate allocation to key strategic initiatives in service of business goals, as well as the ongoing tracking & management of all expenses related to the business

  • Partner with sales & product leadership to jointly drive success of the overall LOB.

  • Partner with the member engagement team to develop engagement programs to increase retention & product adoption, in service of overall growth goals & integrated brand experience

  • Regularly report on the progress & success of the business, representing marketing to executive-level leadership at Oscar & among its partners

  • Serve as a coach & mentor to both direct reports & the extended marketing team, cultivating a fast-moving, performance-oriented culture that asks tough questions & delivers exceptional results

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing or other field of study or commensurate years of experience 

  • 8+ years of marketing experience with a primary focus on B2B marketing

  • Proven success defining & delivering programs with cross-functional teams

  • 3+ years of direct people management experience

Bonus points:

  • Experience working within a highly regulated healthcare or financial services industry

  • Experience working with indirect sales (e.g., marketing through brokers or other channels), as well as business decision makers

  • Fluency in agile, digital-first marketing approaches, with proficiency in Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud (or other marketing automation)
