Job Description

Account Level Management is a globalprocessing platform that provides services for segmenting client portfolios, processing issuer submitted data, spend assessment calculations, & card fee billing to support many of Visa's premium card products. This group works with different internal stakeholders including Product Office, Account Execs, Interchange,Client Support, Pricing, Analytics, Technology & many others.

Senior ALM Analyst will be a critical member of the team & will have responsibilities for maintaining & enhancing the ALM Analytics Environment & performing analysis on client file processing & spend assessment results to reduce risk, ensure system accuracy & improve transparency & uncover potential problems upfront. This person will leverage knowledge of big data, database & cutting edge data mining techniques as well as modeling & segmentation. Based on findings from technical data analysis, this person will draw insights & make actionable recommendations that reflect the client's business & context.

The position will be based at Visa's headquarters in Foster City, California.

Job Duties

  • System accuracy KPIs design, development, deployment & execution

  • Enhance ALM analytics framework with appropriate data mining & analytic techniques

  • Support data visualization

  • Become ALM SME

  • Manage & execute small to medium analytics projects independently from end-to-end; work with cross-functional & cross-cultural teams to deliver on these projects

  • Store, retrieve, & manipulate large volume of data for analysis of system capabilities & requirements

  • Extract actionable business insights from the data & build deliverables that clearly communicate the findings & recommendations

  • Find opportunities to create & automate repeatable analyses or build self-service tools

  • Support data driven decision making

  • TRAVEL REQUIREMENT :

    This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 5-10% of the time.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a strong analytic thinker & problem solver, with a blend of business & technical skills:

  • Detail oriented - is expected to ensure highest level of quality/rigor in analysis

  • Ability to execute & solve problems independently

  • Able to communicate data & technical concepts to a business audience

  • High level of competence in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Team oriented, energetic, collaborative, diplomatic, & flexible style

  • Intellectually curious & continuously striving to learn

Primary Technical skills:

  • Excellent hands-on analytical & problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual & analytical rigor

  • Experiences with creating complicated & efficient queries in common database (DB2, HBase, others)

  • Expertise using Hadoop & the related query engines (Hive / Impala)

  • Experience in data visualization & building dashboards in Tableau

  • UNIX proficiency is must

Secondary Technical skills:

  • Proficiency with SAS as a statistical package/R/Python

  • Predictive analytics & statistical modelling

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of business experience, with minimum of 5 years of data analysis involving large volume of data using common analytical/statistical software in relevant settings such as analytics, business-consulting, or other data-driven functions

  • Experiences with monitoring production system to detect & investigate anomalies under tight time frame

  • Preferred to have Post Graduate degree in quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Analytics experience in credit cards, financial services, is helpful but not required

Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit & stand at a desk, communicate in person & by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones & computers, reach with hands & arms, & bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
