SUMMARY

Financial accounting position responsible for administration & management of full cycle payroll for a

1,000+ employee, multinational organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the process of monthly multinational payrolls & semi monthly US payrolls
  • Provide payroll processing backup support globally
  • Develop, mentor & supervise day to day work of payroll staff
  • Manage multi-state & local jurisdiction tax & payroll requirements
  • Maintain international regulatory & reporting compliance
  • Administer equity compensation including incentive stock options, restricted stock units & non-qualified stock options
  • Manage employee leave accrual balances in system of record
  • Review & audit of payroll to ensure accuracy of data
  • Manage & oversee third party payroll vendors
  • Identify & implement enhancements & controls around processes in HRIS & payroll systems
  • Identify & address cross border & expat taxation implications
  • Assist with quarterly & year end processes & reconciliations
  • Monitor payroll internal controls in accordance with SOX compliance procedures
  • Ensure timely & accurate general ledger accounting & reconciliation of all payroll related activities
  • Safeguard sensitive employee information
  • Work closely with HR & broader Finance, Tax & Legal teams
  • Manage & respond to employee queries through the Appian Request Center & assist with employee self-service changes
  • Provide professional customer service to internal & external partners
  • Support outside financial, 401k & workers compensation audits as required

SUPERVISION

  • Direct supervision of payroll staff

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in finance or accounting preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)

EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years payroll experience
  • Global payroll experience necessary, preferably in: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy,
  • Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK
  • Equity compensation administration experience necessary, global experience a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of international, federal, state, FICA & local tax withholdings regulations

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Regular & frequent interaction & communication with employees, management & external auditors requiring strong interpersonal & written/verbal communication skill
  • Italian, Spanish, French, German, or Dutch language is a plus

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Ultimate Software / UltiPro a plus, including BI Cognos report writing
  • Celergo software experience is a plus
