Key Responsibilities of the Role
Undertake detailed structural engineering design
Plan & manage CAD documentation of design work.
Create 3D structural analysis models using commercial software, including RAM (structure, concept & connection) , SAP, ETABS, SAFE, & RISA 3D, etc
Ensure service & project work are carried out within agreed deadlines & within budget.
Guiding less experienced team members in order to achieve the project success.
Act as Job Leader to deliver structural design, coordinating with other Katerras disciplines.
Take responsibility for concept & preliminary engineering solutions for detail design.
Prepare Technical Specifications & Drawings.
Communicate directly with Katerras International offices, to identify & help solve problems.
Responsible for planning, organising & managing personal workload in order to meet deadlines in line with commitments.
Proactively raising concerns regarding workload & ability to meet deadlines.
This position will be a part of Katerras global structural engineering team supporting the projects in US:
A key aspect will be, to work closely with the Katerras International Offices to ensure the global structural engineering strategies are well aligned across the areas of technical development, project delivery, dissemination & training.
Our ideal candidate will be creative individual with good communication skills. This role will typically take responsibility for the structural engineering design & delivery of projects, technical mentorship of younger members of the design team & close collaboration with other disciplines within a multi-discipline environment
Typically, +10 years' experience in structural building engineering experience.
Through knowledge & understanding of US Building & Material Codes.
Experience with wide range of material, including the design of Steel, Wood & Timber & precast & cast in situ (CIP) concrete building structures.
Experience in designing with mass timber
Experience in designing the post-tensioning slabs , transfer slabs with American codes
Experience in the Cold Formed Steel design
Experience in the designing of shear wall / frames in high seismic zone as per American code.
Proficient in structural design software, such as RAM (structure, concept & connection), SAP, SAFE & Etabs & RISA 3D
Post- graduate in structural Engineering
Confident, proactive character, able to take the lead in challenging situation.
The applicant will need to have strong interpersonal & organisational skills.
Ideally, the candidate will also have considerable experience working on international projects (US), in both seismic & non-seismic zones.
Professional Engineer (P.E.), is preferred
Good experience with BIM tools such as REVIT
Experience of using computation design methods, using Dynamo & Grasshopper
