Join the New York Mets and Thunder11 as we host our First Annual Tech Meetup on June 24, 2014 as the tech community visits Citi Field.

Big Data is much more than a buzzword. It's the tool that supports so much rapid growth in the tech industry, revealing new possibilities and opening up new markets. It's also a key driver in baseball: known variously as moneyball and sabermetrics, this statistical approach to winning more games has transformed America's past-time and become the subject of a popular book and movie. Come out and hear New York's tech community discuss the way that Big Data shapes everything from RBI's to IPO's.

The Tech Meetup will take place inside the Mets Auditorium, located on Citi Field's Empire Suite Level, from 5:45 to 6:45. Specially designated buses will collect fans from various locations in downtown Manhattan and ferry them over to the ballpark, where they will hear a panel of today's most innovative data-driven tech CEOs and other special guest speakers. At the conclusion of this meetup, we will enjoy the 7:10 PM Mets vs. A's game from box seats located on the Excelsior Level.

The event will be moderated by renowned tech journalist Adam Penenberg, editor of PandoDaily. Panel participants will include:

Russ D'Souza, Co-Founder of SeatGeek, the Web's largest event ticket search engine.

Michael Flowers, New York City's first Chief Analytics Officer, currently the inaugural Urban Science Fellow at New York University.

Dan Wawrzonek -- MLB -- Senior Manager, Projects and Information Technology.

Kirk McDonald, President of PubMatic, former President of Digital at Time Inc.

Elie Seidman, Entrepreneur in Residence at General Atlantic and former founder and CEO of Oyster.

They will be joined by a representative from the New York Mets Baseball Operations department.
