Description

Join fellow technologists, entrepreneurs, and investors for the NY Enterprise Technology Meetup's (NYETM) March meetup on Tuesday 3/12/13 from 6:45pm-9:00pm!

The format of the event this month will feature Irish-themed enterprise tech demos and a fireside chat with VC Ed Sim. There will be networking before/after.

Demos will be from the following Irish companies:

  • DataHug works by using information you already have - communication data coming in and out of the business daily. With this Datahug builds up a dynamic database of company-wide connections and uses analytics to show who knows who. It digs deeper to provide insights into the connections showing how well they know them.
  • Waratek has developed the first Java Virtual Machine (JVM) specifically designed for cloud computing and Java-as-a-Service (JaaS). It allows Java code to run in a cloud environment without the need for code change. Its utility chargeback statistics enable a multitenant pay exactly what you consume model for individual applications.

We'll also have a fireside chat with VC Ed Sim.

Ed Sim is founder of BOLDstart Ventures and co-founder of Dawntreader Ventures. Mr. Sim has over 17 years of venture capital experience having led seed and first round investments in a number of high profile Internet and software companies.

Some of these market leading enterprises include Greenplum (sold to EMC), GoToMyPC (sold to Citrix and now Citrix Online), 24/7 Media (public and then sold to WPP Group), Answers.com (Nasdaq: ANSW), LivePerson (Nasdaq: LPSN), Gizmo5 (sold to Google), Moreover Technologies (sold to Verisign), Flashbase (sold to Doubleclick), and Fotolog (sold to HiMedia). More recent investments via BOLDstart Ventures include Blaze.io (sold to Akamai), GoInstant (sold to Salesforce), Rapportive (sold to LinkedIn), Thinknear (sold to Telenav), and Enterproid and IndieGoGo.
