Bloomberg, Cornell Tech, & Tech:NYC invite you to join us for the latest installment of the CornellTech@Bloomberg series, featuring Miguel McKelvey, Co-founder & Chief Culture Officer of WeWork.
The recent rise of shared workspaces represents a new paradigm in the workplace & the future of work, which favors flexibility, connectivity & collaboration among budding entrepreneurs & multinational corporations alike. An early trailblazer of this global trend, WeWork & its Co-founder & Chief Culture Officer Miguel McKelvey are shaping this shift in the way we work and, ultimately, live. As demand for shared workspaces continues to flourish, WeWork, already one of the world's most valuable unicorn startups, continues to grow & expand at an astounding rate.
Yet, while the world we live in is becoming increasingly connected through technological advances & collaborative work environments, McKelvey believes people have never been more disconnected. As a result, McKelvey has recently taken on the role of Chief Culture Officer at WeWork, where he has shifted his focus from the architecture & design of the company's spaces to strengthening & scaling the company's organizational culture in the face of rapid growth & global expansion. For many rapidly growing organizations, such as WeWork, the challenge is how to grow & scale at a rapid rate, while also maintaining the culture, community, & principles on which the company was founded - & for which its members & employees seek it out.
McKelvey will be joined onstage by Bloomberg's own Scarlet Fu to discuss his new role as WeWork's Chief Culture Officer, WeWork's plans for the future, as well as his entrepreneurial journey.
