Course Description:
Are you trying to save money in all the wrong places? You, are a successful entrepreneur and you know that financial savvy, expertise and discipline are the key tools in creating a successful business. Even if this is not your “core competency”, the successful executive will know how to uncover the “unknown unknowns” and build a team of experts to complement his/her skill set. A scalable startup is by definition fast growing; it’s important, therefore, to select specialists in the areas of *F.A.T. (Finance, Accounting and Tax) who have the bandwidth and subject matter expertise.
Our luncheon will teach the essential tools needed to operate a startup business.

Session 7: Global Tax, Offense and Defense:
Entrepreneurs will learn on the defensive side how to stay away from common expensive mistakes. On the offense side, you'll find out how to get more return from your businesses through tax planning and taking advantage of tax incentives especially for the internet software and services sector and founders equity compensation.
Entrepreneurs will also learn about the major tax issues that must be considered when a start-up engages in cross-border transactions and expands globally. Such topics include:
- Structuring entities in multiple jurisdictions.
- Global tax competition among tax authorities.
- Taxable presence for a company.
- Customer transactions that can result in withholding taxes.
- How to manage the foreign tax credit in order to have more profits for founders and investors.
