Join us for an evening panel discussion with Joy Marcus from DFJ Gotham, David Tisch from BoxGroup NYC, Matt Turck from Bloomberg Ventures, and Eric Wiesen from RRE Ventures to get the insider's view on what it takes to break into the space.
Joy Marcus:
Joy Marcus joined DFJ Gotham Ventures as a Venture Partner in May 2011. Previously, Joy was the GM for Dailymotion, the SVP Global Marketing at Time Warner, the VP of Business Development at Barnes & Noble.com, and the VP of International Business Development at MTV Networks. She began her career as an M&A lawyer at Debevoise & Plimpton.
David Tisch:
David is an angel investor through BoxGroup NYC and was previously the managing director of Techstars in New York. He attended law school at NYU and was a summer associate at Skadden Arps and Wachtell Lipton. He has founded several companies and also has been an advisor/investor to many others.
Matt Turck:
Matt is a Managing Director at Bloomberg Ventures, the incubation and investment arm of Bloomberg L.P. Prior to joining Bloomberg Ventures, Matt worked at Oracle, which he joined as a result of the acquisition of TripleHop Technologies, a venture-backed enterprise software company that he co-founded. Matt started his career as an M&A and securities lawyer at Sullivan & Cromwell.
Eric Wiesen:
Eric is a General Partner with RRE Ventures, a leading IT-focused venture capital fund in New York City. Earlier in his career, Eric was a two-time technology entrepreneur and a Silicon Valley lawyer at the law firm of Fenwick & West, where he focused on both startup companies as well as the transactions of more mature technology firms. Eric brings his operating and transactional experience to his work as an investor.
