A hackfest dedicated to CITIZEN SCIENCE FOR CITIES, a collaboration between ITP, NYU's Center for the Recently Possible, and CUSP, NYU's Center for Urban Science and Progress.

WHAT'S IT ABOUT? Topics typically combine a citizen-driven need with a scientific or technological challenge. Examples range from tracking your trash, studying the bacteria in your wallet, building social networks for cyclists or preparing for the next hurricane. HOW CAN I HELP? Pitch your own project, or join a team. Come for a few hours, a whole day or the entire weekend. Although many projects are about science and software, you don't have to be a programmer or a scientist to help : experience in graphic design, marketing, journalism and electronics is always useful. Come to contribute, come to learn!
