Description
NewWorkCity, everyone's favorite local co-working spot, is hosting a special potluck celebration this coming Saturday. We'd like to welcome all our community members and friends to join us in wholesome drunken debauchery. (Some of us are bringing parents, but don't let that scare you off. They're awesome.)
Come by at 6 to hang out and pre-game.
We start dinner at 7. Make sure to bring something delicious to share.
Family, friends, feathers or hats (depending on whether you're a pilgrim or indian), and other accessories are all highly recommended.
...and now, some numbers:
In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast that is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. For more than two centuries, days of thanksgiving were celebrated by individual colonies and states. It wasn't until 1863, in the midst of the Civil War, that President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day to be held each November.
